The Last, Last Day of School

Today not only marks the last day of fourth grade for my daughter but the last day of her time at Myers elementary. It seems like yesterday when Quinn entered kindergarten. She was so excited and ready!

Now, five years later, she’s closing a chapter and eager to start a new one. While I’m certainly excited for Quinn, I’m a little nervous too. Time is flying by so quickly, but I’m so happy that I’ve been chronicling these moments and can hold them near and near to my heart. Next stop, fifth grade!

Ten Years of Friendship

It’s hard to believe that my daughter is ten, let alone that she formed a friendship as a baby and had the opportunity to celebrate her friend’s tenth birthday party today.

Of course, Quinn’s bond with Arya was formed as a result of the friendship I formed a few years prior, but I’m so glad they (along with Arya’s younger sisters) all enjoy each other.

Though we live in different towns, watching the both of them grow up into beautiful, bright young ladies makes me so proud. Before we know it, they’ll officially be teens. 😅

Local Fun at the Strawberry Festival

I just love when I stumble across a local, family friendly event, and this weekend it was the Strawberry Festival. There were some cool pop-up shops with strawberry themes, a lot of samples to try out, live music and a photo opportunity.

I’m glad Quinn wanted to go and that Zack, our toy poodle had a great time at this pet friendly event. Looking forward to checking it out again next year!

Proud of My Little Violinist

Learning to play an instrument, especially the violin 🎻 is no easy feat for most, especially learning to play in unison with others. But after months of hard work and occasionally nudging Quinn to practice 😅, she did an exceptional job. She was a part of three solos and performed like a true musician. I’m so proud of Quinn, her classmates and fellow fourth graders from the neighboring schools. 🤗

It’s My Eleventh Mommyversary, But I’m Still Taking Baby Steps!

As I celebrate my eleventh “mommyversary,” one would think that my strides are longer, but I actually find myself taking smaller steps as my “baby” becomes a pre-adolescent.

We’re both entering uncharted territory, and I want to make sure that I’m being a supportive mother who treads lightly as she explores the world no longer needing to hold my hand but knowing that I’m not too far behind to offer support and love.

I’m thankful for being her mom and celebrating Mother’s Day with her, my mom and husband (her dad).

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms, mothers to be, aunties, mother-like-figures, etc.

Easter Egg Cookie Decorating Fun

Since my daughter was a toddler, we’ve been dyeing eggs for Easter. But this year, my soon-to-be ten year old decided that she wanted to do something different: Easter egg cookie decorating!

We stumbled across a kit at Target that actually had her name, “Quinn” on the box, which was perfect. Though I did miss dyeing eggs this year, this was a fun activity that we both enjoyed.

Sixers Spring Break Surprise!
