12 Days of Christmas: Day 7: No school and no work are perks of winter break 🤗.
But I was excited to come to Quinn’s school yesterday to celebrate her and other award winners for their hard work at a cocoa cafe event. What a wonderful way to not only acknowledge the hard work of the students but to kick off winter break.
12 Days of Christmas: Day 6: For the past seven years, one of our holiday traditions is seeing a okay at Walnut Street Theatre.
This year, it was Elf the Musical. Not only did Quinn and I both thoroughly enjoy the play but we had a wonderful dinner with great conversation afterwards ☺️.
I hope this is a tradition we keep for many years to come.
Decorating our Christmas tree is something Quinn and I look forward to doing together each year. For the past few years, we’ve had a candy and sweet treats Christmas tree theme.
While I thought about changing it this year to something totally different, Quinn asked that we embrace it even more. I worked on a new tree topper, and Quinn picked out some new donuts, cookies and cupcakes for an even sweeter tree! 😋🍩🍪🧁🎄
12 days of Christmas: Day 4. Quinn has shown me that being a tween can be a fun in-between phase.
She’s just eleven but had great suggestions for holiday party games and helped with baking cookies and food preparation. Some may call it a Christmas miracle to have a daughter who’s eager to help, but I call it a blessing. 🥰🎄
Every year, we host a family holiday party, and though a few folks couldn’t make it this year, we still had a wonderful time.
It always warms my heart to spend time with family, especially those I don’t see often. It’s not just about spreading Christmas cheer with food, games and prizes, but showing Quinn the importance of family togetherness. 🥰🎄
Quinn and I love watching Christmas movies together, so when Red One hit the theaters, we couldn’t wait to check it out. This movie did not disappoint. It was a nice combination of humor, love with a sprinkle of thought-provoking moments. We officially have another classic added to our list!
Kicking off 12 days of Christmas with a blast from the past. This makes the 12th year of celebrating Christmas with Quinn. While each year is filled with wonderful memories and family togetherness , the first one together will always have a special place in my heart.
A meal with all of the fixings for Thanksgiving is always nice, but something I love even more is additional time with my family and observing Quinn get to interact and have fun with her cousins.
Today, my family had a wonderful opportunity to attend an Eagles holiday and photo shoot event. Not only was my eleven year old excited but our four year old toy poodle too who is a major part of our family.
Though the Eagles have an away game today, it was wonderful to see so many families and fans all in one place with huge smiles and positive energy proudly wearing green, including their four-legged family members.
Yesterday, I surprised my eleven year old and took her to see Hamilton the Musical. From the seats to the ambiance to the acting to the singing and rapping, we loved everything. With the election results not what either of us had hoped for days prior, part of me was concerned with if this play, addressing many political issues would leave us both emotionally drained.
Surprisingly, the energy of the actors and many of the audience members left us both hopeful despite the uncertainty of the future. I’m thankful for Lin Manuel’s genius and enjoyed many of the illusions to hip hop culture and rap songs too. I’m grateful for the opportunity for Quinn and I to bond and neither of us are throwing away our shot to celebrate positivity and community in the face of change and possible challenges ahead.
