Summer Break Fun with Family Continues in Wildwood

Family time is so important to me, so I’m glad Quinn and I were able to have some summer break fun in Wildwood with my aunt and cousins. We had a wonderful time at the beach, and the weather was great!

Though I may not get on roller coaster and topsy turvy rides like when I was younger, I still had a blast watching Quinn and our cousins smile, giggle and occasionally scream in “fun” terror!

All the best,

Tanya

Ready for Some Football & More Summer Break Fun

It’s officially August, which means summer break will be ending in a few weeks 🥺. But before it does, we’re squeezing in some family fun at the Philadelphia Eagles Practice Camp!

Quinn is so excited! 🤗 She’s now seen the Sixers at Wells Fargo Center, the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park Stadium and the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field in person! What a great way to start August and wind down summer break!

All the best,

The Benefits of Summer Break: Quality Time with Family

My daughter and I’ve been having a terrific summer break full of adventures, but this weekend was extra special. We don’t get to see extended family as often as we’d like, so spending time with them in Washington, DC and exploring the National Museum of African American History and Culture was truly a memorable experience.

There were so many relatives Quinn got to meet for the first time, which put a huge smile on my face and in my heart. Here’s to building more memories with family not only during summer break but year round.

All the best,

Tanya

Celebrating The Philadelphia Zoo’s 150th Anniversary

Since my daughter was a baby, we’ve had a membership to the Philadelphia Zoo. Over a decade later, she still enjoys her time there and was excited to celebrate their 150th anniversary and get some free treats courtesy of Wawa’s Welcome America along with my mom (her nana).

Interestingly, just about all of the animals, including the lions, tiger and bears, were out, active and ready for their close-ups. It’s as though they were put on notice about this major milestone and were all ready to celebrate too.

This was a great way to start off July and to keep the fun going with our summer break activities.

All the best,

Tanya

A Hole in One with More Summer Break Fun!

Today had some pricey summer break activities, but the memories are worth it! My daughter and I linked up with my sister and niece for some Putt Shack fun for the first time and had a wonderful time in the central air playing miniature golf with a very fun course.

We then walked to Kook Burger for some delicious food and monster sized milkshakes. It was Quinn and my first time there, and we both enjoyed the menu.

Here’s to a fun-filled summer break!

All the best,

Tanya

Recognizing a “Dad” Worthy of Celebration on Father’s Day

In an effort to celebrate a “Father’s Day” for a person worthy of the title “dad,” I decided to break tradition and take my husband somewhere new to enjoy a brunch fit for a king. Founding Farmers, that our daughter Quinn, mistakenly and jokingly called “Founding Fathers,” was well received.

What makes this place special is everything is made in-house from the bread to the beverages, and local farmers contribute. It made me think about the relationship between my husband and daughter. It’s naturally organic and something so authentic about their connection. Admittedly, I do feel that their father/daughter relationship is not necessarily better but different than our mother/daughter relationship. They have something special that cannot be recreated: a strong bond. For that I am grateful.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers, fathers-to-be, like a father, uncles, pop-pops, etc. This is your special day!

All the best,

Tanya

Summer Break Fun with My Mini Me: Just Like Riding a Bike!

Instead of going to camp or just hanging around the house for summer break, my daughter prefers to spend time doing activities together 🥰. I too love having more time together and am pleased that my tween still looks forward to hanging out with me.

Today’s summer break fun was taking her brand new bike out for a spin on a bike trail. Transitioning from a dirt bike with foot brakes to a mountain bike with hand brakes went smoothly for her. We’re thinking next time that we’ll have a picnic after the bike ride and to maybe feed the geese or ducks.

Here’s to a fun-filled summer break!

All the best,

Tanya
